Project Clean and Safe: Revitalizing Detroit Neighborhoods

Project Clean and Safe is a grassroots neighborhood revitalization initiative led by the Bailey Park Grounds Crew. This collaborative effort aims to enhance the cleanliness, attractiveness, and safety of the McDougall-Hunt neighborhood and other communities throughout Detroit. By partnering with local organizations, block clubs, and individuals, Bailey Park provides support and resources for street clean-ups and the maintenance of pocket parks, ultimately fostering a stronger sense of community pride and environmental stewardship.

 Outcomes and Benefits:

Community Engagement: Engaging residents and stakeholders in maintaining, beautifying, and developing green spaces promotes a stronger sense of community ownership and connectivity.

Transformation of Vacant Land: Converting problematic vacant lots into shared garden spaces, community green areas, or well-maintained open spaces enhances ecosystem services, habitat connectivity, urban biodiversity, and social well-being.

Environmental Connection: Fostering a connection between residents and their natural environment encourages adopting sustainable ecological practices, leading to a cleaner, healthier neighborhood with reduced crime rates and increased property values.

Volunteer to Join Us: Join Project Clean and Safe and contribute to transforming Detroit neighborhoods. Together, we can create cleaner, safer, and more vibrant communities for all residents.
